Transliteration
Oṃ Gaṃ Gaṇapataye Namaḥ
Translation
Om, Gam, salutations to Ganapati — a seed-syllable invocation calling on Ganesha as lord of all assemblies/categories of existence.
Meaning
"Om" is the primordial sound; "Gam" is Ganesha's bija (seed) syllable, condensing his essence into a single sound; "Ganapataye" addresses him as "to the Lord of the Ganas (hosts/groups)"; "Namah" is the offering of salutation. Recited before any undertaking to invoke his presence.
