Gajānanaṃ bhūtagaṇādi sevitam

I meditate upon the elephant-faced lord adored by hosts of beings…

करिष्ये वचनं तव

Kariṣye vacanaṃ tava

I shall carry out your word (with sincerity).

यथा सर्वेषु कृतेषु

Yathā sarveṣu kṛteṣu

Just as in all accomplished endeavors truth shines foremost.

श्री रुद्रम् प्रथमोऽध्यायः (संक्षेप)

Śrī Rudram prathamo’dhyāyaḥ (saṃkṣepa)

Reverential homage invoking Śiva across manifestations—teacher-guided chanting.

या देवी सर्वभूतेषु

Yā devī sarvabhūteṣu

That Goddess who abides in all beings as consciousness—salutations.

शान्तिरन्तरिक्षम्

Śāntir antarikṣam

Peace in atmosphere… peace in waters… peace radiating within devotion.

ॐ गं गणपतये नमः

Oṃ Gaṃ Gaṇapataye Namaḥ

Om, Gam, salutations to Ganapati — a seed-syllable invocation calling on Ganesha as lord of all assemblies/categories of existence.

वक्रतुण्ड महाकाय सूर्यकोटि समप्रभ । निर्विघ्नं कुरु मे देव सर्वकार्येषु सर्वदा ॥

Vakratuṇḍa Mahākāya Sūryakoṭi Samaprabha, Nirvighnaṃ Kuru Me Deva Sarvakāryeṣu Sarvadā

O curved-trunked, mighty-bodied one, radiant as a million suns — make all my undertakings free of obstacles, always, O Lord.

प्रणम्य शिरसा देवं गौरीपुत्रं विनायकम् । भक्तावासं स्मरेन्नित्यमायुष्कामार्थसिद्धये ॥

Praṇamya Śirasā Devaṃ Gaurīputraṃ Vināyakam, Bhaktāvāsaṃ Smaren Nityam Āyuṣkāmārthasiddhaye

Bowing the head to the god Vinayaka, son of Gauri, one should remember him daily — the refuge of devotees — for long life, fulfillment of desires, and success in one's aims.

मुदाकरात्तमोदकं सदा विमुक्तिसाधकं कलाधरावतंसकं विलासिलोकरक्षकम् । अनायकैकनायकं विनाशितेभदैत्यकं नताशुभाशुनाशकं नमामि तं विनायकम् ॥

Mudākarātta Modakaṃ Sadā Vimuktisādhakaṃ Kalādharāvataṃsakaṃ Vilāsilokarakṣakam, Anāyakaikanāyakaṃ Vināśitebhadaityakaṃ Natāśubhāśunāśakaṃ Namāmi Taṃ Vināyakam

I bow to Vinayaka — who joyfully holds a sweet in his hand, who ever grants liberation, who wears the crescent moon as an ornament, who protects the world in its play; the one leader of the leaderless, destroyer of the elephant-demon, who swiftly dissolves the misfortunes of those who bow to him.

विनायकः शिखां पातु परमात्मा परात्परः । अतिसुन्दरकायस्तु मस्तकं सुमहोत्कटः ॥

Vināyakaḥ Śikhāṃ Pātu Paramātmā Parātparaḥ, Atisundarakāyastu Mastakaṃ Sumahotkaṭaḥ

May Vinayaka, the Supreme Self beyond the highest, guard my crown of hair; may the exceedingly beautiful, mighty one guard my head.

ॐ गणेश्वराय नमः । ॐ गणक्रीडाय नमः । ॐ गणनाथाय नमः । ॐ गणाधिपाय नमः । ॐ एकदंष्ट्राय नमः । ॐ वक्रतुण्डाय नमः ।

Oṃ Gaṇeśvarāya Namaḥ, Oṃ Gaṇakrīḍāya Namaḥ, Oṃ Gaṇanāthāya Namaḥ, Oṃ Gaṇādhipāya Namaḥ, Oṃ Ekadaṃṣṭrāya Namaḥ, Oṃ Vakratuṇḍāya Namaḥ

Salutations to the Lord of the hosts; salutations to the one who delights among the hosts; salutations to the master of the hosts; salutations to the chief of the hosts; salutations to the single-tusked one; salutations to the curved-trunked one.

ॐ श्रीं महालक्ष्म्यै नमः

Oṃ Śrīṃ Mahālakṣmyai Namaḥ

Om, salutations to the Great Goddess Lakshmi, whose seed-sound is Shreem.

पद्मासने पद्मकरे सर्वलोकैकपूजिते । नारायणप्रिये देवि सुप्रीता भव सर्वदा ॥

Padmāsane Padmakare Sarvalokaikapūjite, Nārāyaṇapriye Devi Suprītā Bhava Sarvadā

O Goddess seated on the lotus, lotus in hand, worshipped uniquely by all the worlds — beloved of Narayana, be ever pleased with us.

अङ्गं हरेः पुलकभूषणमाश्रयन्ती भृङ्गाङ्गनेव मुकुलाभरणं तमालम् । अङ्गीकृताखिलविभूतिरपाङ्गलीला माङ्गल्यदास्तु मम मङ्गलदेवतायाः ॥

Aṅgaṃ Hareḥ Pulakabhūṣaṇam Āśrayantī Bhṛṅgāṅganeva Mukulābharaṇaṃ Tamālam, Aṅgīkṛtākhilavibhūtir Apāṅgalīlā Māṅgalyadāstu Mama Maṅgaladevatāyāḥ

May the playful sidelong glance of the auspicious Goddess — who rests upon Hari's body the way a female bee settles on a blossoming tamala tree, and who has taken on herself every divine glory — grant me good fortune.

ॐ हिरण्यवर्णां हरिणीं सुवर्णरजतस्रजाम् । चन्द्रां हिरण्मयीं लक्ष्मीं जातवेदो म आवह ॥

Oṃ Hiraṇyavarṇāṃ Hariṇīṃ Suvarṇarajatasrajām, Candrāṃ Hiraṇmayīṃ Lakṣmīṃ Jātavedo Ma Āvaha

O Fire (Jatavedas), bring to me that golden-hued Lakshmi, radiant as a doe, garlanded with gold and silver, moon-like and golden-formed.

नमस्तेऽस्तु महामाये श्रीपीठे सुरपूजिते । शङ्खचक्रगदाहस्ते महालक्ष्मि नमोऽस्तुते ॥

Namaste'stu Mahāmāye Śrīpīṭhe Surapūjite, Śaṅkhacakragadāhaste Mahālakṣmi Namo'stu Te

Salutations to you, Great Illusion-Weaver, throned in glory and worshipped by the celestials; salutations to you, Mahalakshmi, who bears the conch, discus, and mace.

नित्यगता अनन्तनित्या नन्दिनी जनरञ्जनी । नित्यप्रकाशिनी स्वप्रकाशस्वरूपिणी ॥

Nityagatā Anantanityā Nandinī Janarañjanī, Nityaprakāśinī Svaprakāśasvarūpiṇī

She who is ever-moving, endlessly eternal, the joy-giver, the delighter of all people, ever self-luminous, whose very nature is self-radiance.

ॐ नमः शिवाय

Oṃ Namaḥ Śivāya

Om, salutations to Shiva — the most fundamental Shaiva mantra, offering reverence to the auspicious, all-pervading consciousness that Shiva embodies.

नागेन्द्रहाराय त्रिलोचनाय भस्माङ्गरागाय महेश्वराय। नित्याय शुद्धाय दिगम्बराय तस्मै "न" काराय नमः शिवाय॥

Nāgendrahārāya Trilocanāya Bhasmāṅgarāgāya Maheśvarāya, Nityāya Śuddhāya Digambarāya Tasmai 'Na'kārāya Namaḥ Śivāya

Salutations to the great lord who wears the king of serpents as a garland, who bears three eyes, whose limbs are smeared with sacred ash — who is eternal, pure, and robed in the directions themselves. To him, present in the syllable 'Na', I bow.

ब्रह्ममुरारिसुरार्चितलिङ्गं निर्मलभासितशोभितलिङ्गम्। जन्मजदुःखविनाशकलिङ्गं तत्प्रणमामि सदाशिवलिङ्गम्॥

Brahmamurārisurārcitaliṅgaṃ Nirmalabhāsitaśobhitaliṅgam, Janmajaduḥkhavināśakaliṅgaṃ Tatpraṇamāmi Sadāśivaliṅgam

I bow to that eternal Shiva-linga, worshipped by Brahma, Vishnu, and the gods; radiant with a stainless splendor; and destroyer of the sorrows born of worldly existence.

नमस्ते रुद्र मन्यव उतोत इषवे नमः। नमस्ते अस्तु धन्वने बाहुभ्यामुत ते नमः॥

Namaste Rudra Manyava Uto Ta Iṣave Namaḥ, Namaste Astu Dhanvane Bāhubhyām Uta Te Namaḥ

Salutations to your fury, O Rudra, and salutations to your arrow. Salutations be to your bow, and salutations to your two arms.

त्र्यम्बकं यजामहे सुगन्धिं पुष्टिवर्धनम्। उर्वारुकमिव बन्धनान्मृत्योर्मुक्षीय मामृतात्॥

Tryambakaṃ Yajāmahe Sugandhiṃ Puṣṭivardhanam, Urvārukamiva Bandhanānmṛtyormukṣīya Māmṛtāt

We worship the three-eyed one, fragrant and nourishing; may he free us from the bond of death, like a ripe cucumber falls freely from its vine, and unite us with immortality.

जटाटवीगलज्जलप्रवाहपावितस्थले गलेऽवलम्ब्य लम्बितां भुजङ्गतुङ्गमालिकाम्। डमड्डमड्डमड्डमन्निनादवड्डमर्वयं चकार चण्डताण्डवं तनोतु नः शिवः शिवम्॥

Jaṭāṭavīgalajjalapravāhapāvitasthale Gale'valambya Lambitāṃ Bhujaṅgatuṅgamālikām, Ḍamaḍḍamaḍḍamaḍḍamanninādavaḍḍamarvayaṃ Cakāra Caṇḍatāṇḍavaṃ Tanotu Naḥ Śivaḥ Śivam

On the ground purified by the stream cascading from his tangled locks, wearing a towering garland of serpents around his neck, to the resounding beat of his damaru drumming — may Shiva, performing his fierce cosmic dance, grant us auspiciousness.

नमो देव्यै महादेव्यै शिवायै सततं नमः । नमः प्रकृत्यै भद्रायै नियताः प्रणताः स्म ताम् ॥

Namo Devyai Mahādevyai Śivāyai Satataṃ Namaḥ, Namaḥ Prakṛtyai Bhadrāyai Niyatāḥ Praṇatāḥ Sma Tām

Salutations to the Goddess, to the Great Goddess, to the auspicious one — constant salutations. We, ever disciplined in devotion, bow to her who is Nature itself, the gracious one.

या देवी सर्वभूतेषु शक्तिरूपेण संस्थिता । नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमस्तस्यै नमो नमः ॥

Yā Devī Sarvabhūteṣu Śaktirūpeṇa Saṃsthitā, Namastasyai Namastasyai Namastasyai Namo Namaḥ

To the Goddess who abides within all beings in the form of primal Power, we bow again and again — salutation, salutation, salutation, and repeated obeisance.

ॐ जय त्वं देवि चामुण्डे जय भूतापहारिणि । जय सर्वगते देवि कालरात्रि नमोऽस्तु ते ॥

Oṃ Jaya Tvaṃ Devi Cāmuṇḍe Jaya Bhūtāpahāriṇi, Jaya Sarvagate Devi Kālarātri Namo'stu Te

Victory to you, Goddess Chamunda! Victory to you, remover of every creature's suffering! Victory to you, all-pervading Goddess Kalaratri — salutations to you.

मार्कण्डेय उवाच । यद्गुह्यं परमं लोके सर्वरक्षाकरं नृणाम् । यन्न कस्यचिदाख्यातं तन्मे ब्रूहि पितामह ॥

Mārkaṇḍeya Uvāca, Yad Guhyaṃ Paramaṃ Loke Sarvarakṣākaraṃ Nṛṇām, Yanna Kasyacidākhyātaṃ Tanme Brūhi Pitāmaha

Markandeya said: O Grandsire, tell me that supreme secret of the world which grants complete protection to humankind, and which has been revealed to no one before.

ॐ ऐं ह्रीं क्लीं चामुण्डायै विच्चे ॥

Oṃ Aiṃ Hrīṃ Klīṃ Cāmuṇḍāyai Vicce

Om — invocation to Goddess Chamunda through the three seed-sounds of wisdom, abundant power, and transformative force.

अयि गिरिनन्दिनि नन्दितमेदिनि विश्वविनोदिनि नन्दनुते । गिरिवरविन्ध्यशिरोऽधिनिवासिनि विष्णुविलासिनि जिष्णुनुते ॥

Ayi Girinandini Nanditamedini Viśvavinodini Nandanute, Girivaravindhyaśiro'dhinivāsini Viṣṇuvilāsini Jiṣṇunute

O joyful daughter of the mountain, gladdener of the earth, delighter of the universe, praised by the joyous! You who dwell atop the great Vindhya peak, playful companion of Vishnu, praised by the victorious Indra.

ॐ ऐं सरस्वत्यै नमः

Oṃ Aiṃ Sarasvatyai Namaḥ

Om, salutations to Saraswati.

ॐ ऐं वाग्देव्यै विद्महे कामराजाय धीमहि । तन्नो देवी प्रचोदयात् ॥

Oṃ Aiṃ Vāgdevyai Vidmahe Kāmarājāya Dhīmahi, Tanno Devī Pracodayāt

Om, let us come to know the Goddess of Speech; let us meditate on the giver of fulfillment; may that Goddess illumine our understanding.

या कुन्देन्दुतुषारहारधवला या शुभ्रवस्त्रावृता । या वीणावरदण्डमण्डितकरा या श्वेतपद्मासना ॥ या ब्रह्माच्युतशङ्करप्रभृतिभिर्देवैः सदा पूजिता । सा मां पातु सरस्वती भगवती निःशेषजाड्यापहा ॥

Yā Kundendutuṣārahāradhavalā Yā Śubhravastrāvṛtā, Yā Vīṇāvaradaṇḍamaṇḍitakarā Yā Śvetapadmāsanā, Yā Brahmācyutaśaṅkaraprabhṛtibhirdevaiḥ Sadā Pūjitā, Sā Māṃ Pātu Sarasvatī Bhagavatī Niḥśeṣajāḍyāpahā

She who is white as jasmine, moonlight, snow, and a pearl garland, robed in pure white, holding the graceful staff of the veena, seated on a white lotus, ever worshipped by Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva and the other gods — may that radiant goddess Saraswati, destroyer of all dullness, protect me.

दोर्भिर्युक्ता चतुर्भिः स्फटिकमणिनिभैरक्षमालान्दधाना । हस्तेनैकेन पद्मं सितमपि च शुकं पुस्तकं चापरेण ॥

Dorbhiryuktā Caturbhiḥ Sphaṭikamaṇinibhairakṣamālāndadhānā, Hastenaikena Padmaṃ Sitamapi Ca Śukaṃ Pustakaṃ Cāpareṇa

Endowed with four arms, she holds a rosary of crystal-like beads, a white lotus in one hand, and in another a parrot and a book.

सरस्वति नमस्तुभ्यं वरदे कामरूपिणि । विद्यारम्भं करिष्यामि सिद्धिर्भवतु मे सदा ॥

Sarasvati Namastubhyaṃ Varade Kāmarūpiṇi, Vidyārambhaṃ Kariṣyāmi Siddhirbhavatu Me Sadā

Salutations to you, O Saraswati, giver of boons and fulfiller of wishes. I begin my studies; may I always attain success.

सरस्वति महाभागे विद्ये कमललोचने । विद्यारूपे विशालाक्षि विद्यां देहि नमोऽस्तु ते ॥

Sarasvati Mahābhāge Vidye Kamalalocane, Vidyārūpe Viśālākṣi Vidyāṃ Dehi Namo'stu Te

O greatly fortunate Saraswati, O knowledge itself, lotus-eyed one; wide-eyed embodiment of learning, grant me knowledge — salutations to you.

ॐ नमो नारायणाय

Oṃ Namo Nārāyaṇāya

Om, salutations to Narayana.

यत्र यत्र रघुनाथकीर्तनं तत्र तत्र कृतमस्तकाञ्जलिम् । बाष्पवारिपरिपूर्णलोचनं मारुतिं नमत राक्षसान्तकम् ॥

Yatra Yatra Raghunātha-kīrtanaṃ Tatra Tatra Kṛta-mastakāñjalim, Bāṣpa-vāri-paripūrṇa-locanaṃ Mārutiṃ Namata Rākṣasāntakam

Wherever the glory of Raghunatha is sung, there stands Hanuman with palms folded above his head, eyes brimming with tears — bow to that son of the wind, destroyer of demons.

शान्ताकारं भुजगशयनं पद्मनाभं सुरेशं विश्वाधारं गगनसदृशं मेघवर्णं शुभाङ्गम् । लक्ष्मीकान्तं कमलनयनं योगिभिर्ध्यानगम्यम् वन्दे विष्णुं भवभयहरं सर्वलोकैकनाथम् ॥

Śāntākāraṃ Bhujagaśayanaṃ Padmanābhaṃ Sureśaṃ Viśvādhāraṃ Gaganasadṛśaṃ Meghavarṇaṃ Śubhāṅgam, Lakṣmīkāntaṃ Kamalanayanaṃ Yogibhirdhyānagamyam Vande Viṣṇuṃ Bhavabhayaharaṃ Sarvalokaikanātham

Of tranquil form, resting on the serpent-couch, lotus-navelled, lord of the gods; support of the universe, boundless as the sky, cloud-dark and radiant of limb; beloved of Lakshmi, lotus-eyed, reached by sages only through meditation — I bow to Vishnu, remover of worldly fear, sole lord of all realms.

शुक्लाम्बरधरं विष्णुं शशिवर्णं चतुर्भुजम् । प्रसन्नवदनं ध्यायेत् सर्वविघ्नोपशान्तये ॥

Śuklāmbaradharaṃ Viṣṇuṃ Śaśivarṇaṃ Caturbhujam, Prasannavadanaṃ Dhyāyet Sarvavighnopaśāntaye

One should meditate on Vishnu, clad in white, moon-hued, four-armed, and serene-faced, for the pacifying of all obstacles.

यं ब्रह्मा वरुणेन्द्ररुद्रमरुतः स्तुन्वन्ति दिव्यैः स्तवैः वेदैः साङ्गपदक्रमोपनिषदैः गायन्ति यं सामगाः । ध्यानावस्थिततद्गतेन मनसा पश्यन्ति यं योगिनो यस्यान्तं न विदुः सुरासुरगणा देवाय तस्मै नमः ॥

Yaṃ Brahmā Varuṇendrarudramarutaḥ Stunvanti Divyaiḥ Stavair Vedaiḥ Sāṅgapadakramopaniṣadair Gāyanti Yaṃ Sāmagāḥ, Dhyānāvasthitatadgatena Manasā Paśyanti Yaṃ Yogino Yasyāntaṃ Na Viduḥ Surāsuragaṇā Devāya Tasmai Namaḥ

Whom Brahma, Varuna, Indra, Rudra and the Maruts praise with celestial hymns; whom the Sama chanters sing through the Vedas with their limbs, syllables, sequences and Upanishads; whom yogis behold with minds fixed in meditation; whose end neither gods nor demons have known — to that God, salutations.

कायेन वाचा मनसेन्द्रियैर्वा बुद्ध्यात्मना वा प्रकृतेः स्वभावात् । करोमि यद्यत् सकलं परस्मै नारायणायेति समर्पयामि ॥

Kāyena Vācā Manasendriyairvā Buddhyātmanā Vā Prakṛteḥ Svabhāvāt, Karomi Yadyat Sakalaṃ Parasmai Nārāyaṇāyeti Samarpayāmi

Whatever I do — by body, speech, mind, senses, intellect, or simply by the nature I was born with — I offer all of it to the Supreme, to Narayana.

प्रलयपयोधिजले धृतवानसि वेदं विहितवहित्रचरित्रमखेदम् । केशव धृतमीनशरीर जय जगदीश हरे ॥

Pralayapayodhijale Dhṛtavānasi Vedaṃ Vihitavahitracaritramakhedam, Keśava Dhṛtamīnaśarīra Jaya Jagadīśa Hare

In the floodwaters of dissolution you bore the Veda, tirelessly playing the part of its rescuing vessel. O Keshava, who took the form of a fish, victory to you, lord of the universe, Hari.

ॐ श्री हनुमते नमः

Oṃ Śrī Hanumate Namaḥ

Om, salutations to the glorious Hanuman.

मनोजवं मारुततुल्यवेगं जितेन्द्रियं बुद्धिमतां वरिष्ठम् । वातात्मजं वानरयूथमुख्यं श्रीरामदूतं शरणं प्रपद्ये ॥

Manojavaṃ Māruta-tulya-vegaṃ Jitendriyaṃ Buddhimatāṃ Variṣṭham, Vātātmajaṃ Vānara-yūtha-mukhyaṃ Śrī-Rāma-dūtaṃ Śaraṇaṃ Prapadye

I take refuge in him whose speed matches thought and equals the wind, master of his senses, foremost among the wise, son of the Wind-god, chief of the monkey host, and messenger of Sri Rama.

बुद्धिर्बलं यशोधैर्यं निर्भयत्वमरोगता । अजाड्यं वाक्पटुत्वं च हनुमत्स्मरणाद्भवेत् ॥

Buddhir Balaṃ Yaśo Dhairyaṃ Nirbhayatvam Arogatā, Ajāḍyaṃ Vākpaṭutvaṃ Ca Hanumat-smaraṇād Bhavet

Through remembrance of Hanuman come intellect, strength, honor and steadiness, freedom from fear, sound health, sharpness of mind, and eloquence.

प्राच्यां वज्रतनुः पातु आग्नेय्यामग्निनाजितः । याम्यां पात्वञ्जनीपुत्रो शोकघ्नः पिङ्गलेक्षणः ॥

Prācyāṃ Vajra-tanuḥ Pātu Āgneyyām Agninā Ajitaḥ, Yāmyāṃ Pātv Añjanī-putro Śokaghnaḥ Piṅgalekṣaṇaḥ

In the east may the thunderbolt-bodied one protect me; in the southeast, the one unconquered by fire; in the south, may Anjani's son — sorrow's destroyer, tawny-eyed — protect me.

ॐ हनुमानञ्जनासूनुर्वायुपुत्रो महाबलः । केसरीनन्दनः श्रीमान्विश्वकर्माऽर्चितध्वजः ॥

Oṃ Hanumān Añjanā-sūnur Vāyu-putro Mahābalaḥ, Kesarī-nandanaḥ Śrīmān Viśvakarmārcita-dhvajaḥ

Om — Hanuman, son of Anjana, child of the Wind-god, immensely strong; delight of Kesari, glorious, his banner fashioned by Vishwakarma.

ॐ भूर्भुवः स्वः । तत्सवितुर्वरेण्यं भर्गो देवस्य धीमहि । धियो यो नः प्रचोदयात् ॥

Oṃ Bhūrbhuvaḥ Svaḥ, Tatsaviturvareṇyaṃ Bhargo Devasya Dhīmahi, Dhiyo Yo Naḥ Pracodayāt

We meditate on the glorious radiance of that adorable Savitr (the Sun); may he illumine our minds.

ॐ सूर्याय नमः

Oṃ Sūryāya Namaḥ

Om, salutations to Surya.

ॐ मित्राय नमः । ॐ रवये नमः । ॐ सूर्याय नमः । ॐ भानवे नमः । ॐ खगाय नमः । ॐ पूष्णे नमः ।

Oṃ Mitrāya Namaḥ, Oṃ Ravaye Namaḥ, Oṃ Sūryāya Namaḥ, Oṃ Bhānave Namaḥ, Oṃ Khagāya Namaḥ, Oṃ Pūṣṇe Namaḥ

Salutations to the Friend of all, to the Radiant One, to the Sun, to the Illuminator, to the Sky-mover, to the Nourisher.

आदित्यहृदयं पुण्यं सर्वशत्रुविनाशनम् । जयावहं जपेन्नित्यमक्षय्यं परमं शिवम् ॥

Ādityahṛdayaṃ Puṇyaṃ Sarvaśatruvināśanam, Jayāvahaṃ Japennityamakṣayyaṃ Paramaṃ Śivam

This Aditya Hridayam is sacred, destroys all adversity, and brings victory; reciting it daily grants imperishable and supreme well-being.

आदिदेव नमस्तुभ्यं प्रसीद मम भास्कर । दिवाकर नमस्तुभ्यं प्रभाकर नमोऽस्तु ते ॥

Salutations to you, O first of gods; be gracious to me, O Bhaskara. Salutations to you, maker of the day; salutations to you, giver of light.

शिरो मे भास्करः पातु ललाटं मेऽमितद्युतिः । नेत्रे दिनमणिः पातु श्रवणे वासरेश्वरः ॥

Śiro Me Bhāskaraḥ Pātu Lalāṭaṃ Me'mitadyutiḥ, Netre Dinamaṇiḥ Pātu Śravaṇe Vāsareśvaraḥ

May Bhaskara protect my head, the one of boundless brilliance protect my forehead; may the jewel of the day protect my eyes, the lord of the day protect my ears.
